The difference between liquid pressure and air pressure

The difference between liquid pressure and air pressure.

In physics, a pressure describes how a force is spread over an area, and it has more than a type for it. In this blog, we will compare between liquid pressure and air pressure, and let's start with the air pressure.

Air pressure

Definition

Air pressure, or atmospheric pressure, is the exertion of the force on a surface by the air as gravity pulls it to earth, it is caused by the weight of air molecules above, and this huge number of molecules pressing down the earth.

Measurement

Air pressure is measure with an instrument called barometer,  the mercury in the glass tube rises and falls when the weight of the atmosphere, and this pressure can be in inches or millibars.

Examples

There are multiple examples of are pressure, some of them is: Rubber sucker, drinking straw, syringe, dropper, aircraft fly and toy balloon.

Liquid pressure

Definition

Liquid pressure is the exertion on a surface in a liquid, and its pressure increases by increasing the depth of a liquid. Sine a liquid has not a certain shape, the pressure can apply in all directions.

Measurement

Liquid pressure is measured with an instrument called manometer, the tube in it will be filled with gas to calculate the pressure, the units can be pascals or millimeters for mercury.

Examples

Some examples of liquid pressure are: Juice box, doe spray, hydraulic system and when you open a bottle of coke.
